They were never engineered for this purpose, and therefore have a few different rules associated with them. If you just learn to use AGM batteries, they are more efficient, cost effective, safer, lower insurance rates, and reduce exposure to OSHA, EPA, and other government regulations.
The rules are simple:
Keep those batteries charged.
At least ½ the capacity of the old lift battery.
Mobile Chargers are Mandatory!
Install the batteries permanently.
BALLAST!

How do we do it? What kind of battery does this?
AGM Aircraft Batteries, available to the Public in the same Mil-Spec Configuration, are produced in California. We are able to purchase these batteries under both the Lifeline and Chairman brand names. These batteries have the cranking power (high amp input/output) and can reliably deliver power over an industry leading number of life cycles. In other words, these little batteries are stronger, last longer, and are better than your daddy's battery. They can cut the cost of a forklift down to where you can afford to keep one around the house.
